Murder suspect’s wife wants to visit him in jail
The wife of a man accused of slaying their only son wants permission to see her husband in jail, according to a motion filed in court Tuesday.
Allen Grabe, 51, is in custody on a $1 million bond on suspicion of killing his 13-year-old son, Jacob, as he slept in his bed the night of Sept. 11.
Mesa County District Court Judge Brian Flynn ordered Allen Grabe not to have contact with his wife, Jaquette.
Jaquette Grabe, who filed for legal separation from her husband a week after the shooting, requested to have contact with her husband in a motion filed Tuesday.
“From the date of marriage up to the date of Mr. Grabe’s incarceration, Mr. Grabe handled all of the family affairs, including business and financial decisions,” the motion said. “There are many questions Jaquette Grabe needs to speak to with her husband, Allen Grabe, about ... Jaquette Grabe loves and misses her husband desperately and wants to be able to see and visit him.”
Prosecutors have not responded to the motion. Allen Grabe is scheduled back in court Dec. 31.
