Commercial bypasses and no buffer zones? This seems to run counter to the efforts of the Mesa Land Trust to preserve the Monument Road corridor.

Gore’s remark about Clinton creating Grand Staircase-Escalante is just weird, since CNM was originally protected by the same act. The Utah neighbors were upset because they would’ve preferred to make money by exploiting the natural resources on federal lands, not welcoming visitors.

Looks like development interests are fluffing up a golden goose to pluck.
