No. 4 Mavericks stunned by Colo. Christian
Colorado Christian University’s women’s basketball team shot 62.5 percent from the field and took advantage of 20 turnovers by fourth-ranked Colorado Mesa to pull off a 77-74 victory tonight in Lakewood.
It ended the Mavericks’ 18-game winning streak and spoiled their perfect record this season.
In the first half alone, the Cougars (12-7, 9-6 RMAC) scored 17 points off CMU turnovers and finished with 28 points off turnovers. Kelsey Sigl and Katrina Selsor both spent much of the first half on the bench and both fouled out in the final minute. Sharaya Selsor led the Maveriks with 23 points. Sigl had 14 and Bruna Deichmann 10.
