Shel Silverstein work showcased

Actors rehearse for “Shel’s Shorts,” a collection of short plays by Shel Silverstein, being produced at Mesa State College.

Anything can happen at Mesa State College Theater Department’s upcoming performances of “Shel’s Shorts,” side-splitting mini plays by the one and only writer, poet and artist Shel Silverstein.

Don’t be fooled, “Shel’s Shorts” appeals to a more adult sense of humor with cursing, craziness and “skronking,” whatever that may be.

“Shel’s Shorts” is at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 6–8, in the Mesa Experimental Theatre (Black Box) in the Moss Performing Arts Center.

The cast of eight portray a wide range of characters in strange situations, according to a news release from the college.

“Shel’s Shorts” is not appropriate for children under age 14, according to the college.

Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students and can be purchased at the door, starting one hour prior to the event.

For more information call the Mesa State Box Office at 248-1604.
