Obama billboard taken down

Though it’s unknown at this time why, the controversial billboard depicting President Barack Obama as a terrorist a gangster and a gay man has been taken down.

Doris Downey, owner of J&S Fence Co. near where the sign was erected off the I-70 Business Loop near 28 1/2 Road, said it came down about 10 a.m. today.

Though Downey said she did not know why it was removed, she’s glad it’s gone, but not because she disagreed with its message. Downey said it attracted so many people, there were times it was difficult for her trucks to leave the property, or customers to come on.

The sign’s artist, Loma cartoonist Paul Snover, said on Thursday it would remain for at least a month, adding that he hopes to take it on the road to other cities sometime afterwards. He has not returned e-mail or telephone messages to say why it’s gone a day later.
