John Kerby

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department says it has arrested sex offender John Joseph Kerby, who was wanted for failure to register.

According to police, an off-duty deputy spotted Kerby at a location in the 3000 block of E ½ Road, Grand Junction. The deputy apparently was there for a child’s Christmas program when he spotted Kerby in the audience.

Kerby’s original charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Child, a class 3 Felony, requires him to register as a sex offender annually.
