Oil shale chairman elected
Roger Day has been elected 2011 chairman of the National Oil Shale Association.
Day is vice president of American Shale Oil LLC.
He is in charge of oil shale operations at American Shale’s federal oil shale research, development and demonstration lease in Rio Blanco County.
Day replaces Gary Aho, who led the association for three years.
Aho is president of Sage Geotech, an energy and mining consulting firm in Rifle.
A 35-year oil shale veteran, he consults for a number of companies and serves as vice president of operations for Oil Shale Exploration Co.
