One man wounded at hotel when bullet fired through wall
One person sustained minor injuries Sunday night after being shot inside a room at Mesa Inn, 704 Horizon Drive.
A weapon was fired inside one room at the inn about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to Grand Junction Police Department spokeswoman Kate Porras. A bullet traveled through the wall of the hotel room and into an adjacent room, hitting a victim inside the other room, Porras said.
The victim went to a hospital but did not ride in an ambulance, according to Porras. A young man who appeared to be in his teens or 20s was seen holding his arm and speaking with police and emergency medical service personnel Sunday night outside the inn after the incident.
Police were still investigating the incident as of 11 p.m. Sunday. No one had been arrested in connection with the shooting as of that time but officers were “talking to people,” Porras said.
Grand Junction Police Department and Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
