Opening reception for locals’ portraits to be at Blue Pig Gallery

The opening reception for “Art for Change: Traditional and non-Traditional Portraits of Locals Who Make a Difference” is 5–8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at The Blue Pig Gallery, 119 W. Third St., in Palisade.

The exhibit features portraits of 20 prominent locals in traditional and non-traditional forms from classic oil paintings to stain glass creations. Artists affiliated with the gallery created the portraits, which are for sale.

The gallery will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each portrait to the subject’s choice of charity, including local charities such as Marillac Clinic, United Way of Mesa County, Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado and Catholic Outreach.
