Owner says go-kart safety precautions in place

GRAND JUNCTION — The owner of the Grand Junction Motor Speedway says everyone involved in a go-kart accident that killed a 9-year-old girl bears some responsibility for her death.

KMGH-TV reports that Stacey Cook also says safety precautions were in place last August when the accident occurred.

Taybor Duncan was killed when she hit a track vehicle that had pulled out on the track while going about 50 miles an hour.

A grand jury in Mesa County has investigated the death to determine if any criminal charges are warranted. They have turned their findings over to the district attorney and the report remains sealed.
