Palisade passes temporary ban on sales of recreational pot
Palisade Town Trustees on Tuesday night approved a ban on the retail sale of recreational marijuana.
The moratorium is in effect until Jan. 2.
Town trustees said the ban is a temporary measure and could be lifted at any time. It was passed to give the town time to see how regulations shake out from the state on retail sales of marijuana, said Town Trustee David Adams.
“This gives everybody a chance to step back and think before making a decision that some people may regret or not regret,” he said by phone today.
Trustees also said the issue of whether Palisade will allow the retail sales of marijuana may go to voters in November.
