I don’t know which is more touching, Penry’s regard for God’s creation or his love of RV traffic. But I find most curious his deep concern about the EPA monkeying with industry.

This seems an odd note to sound in a column about the glories of national parks—unless of course Penry believes park status would be accompanied by increased pollution or would somehow infringe on drilling or other exploitation of the lands.

The devil must be needing an overcoat and ice is forming in hell because I actually agree with Mr. Penry. I encourage every interested person to contact our legislators expressing his or her support for this designation.

Does the beauty of God’s creation—and any obligation we may have toward that—stop abruptly at the Park boundary?
