Police: Body is missing Snowmass man
ASPEN — Aspen police say a body found under a bridge is that of a Snowmass Village man missing since last month.
Police say the body was found Monday by off-duty members of Mountain Rescue who were following through on a pledge to continue looking for 28-year-old George Aldrich.
Aldrich’s body was found under the Maroon Creek Bridge near a bus stop where he was last seen on Nov. 27.
Police say there was no immediate indication of how the Snowmass ski lift operator died. An autopsy was planned for today.
Aldrich was originally from Cranston, R.I. and the Aspen Times reports that he moved to Snowmass Village this fall. His family members have been in Colorado to help look for him.
