Police: Facebook insult led to Colorado Springs killing

COLORADO SPRINGS — Police say a fight on Facebook led to the stabbing death of a 39-year-old man in Colorado Springs.

The Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/11rMf1c ) 20-year-old Elton Lamar Johnson Jr. was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of Juan Carlos Lopez-Herrera the previous night. Johnson is being held on $50,000 bail on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police say Lopez-Herrera was stabbed after he called one of Johnson’s friends a derogatory name on Facebook. Investigators say Johnson told them he went to Lopez-Herrera’s home but stabbed the man in self-defense.

He says Lopez-Herrera pulled the knife during the argument.
