Police investigate, protect pedophilia author

PUEBLO — Police in Colorado are both investigating and protecting the author of a guide for pedophiles.

Phillip Ray Greaves II of Pueblo has drawn national attention because his self-published book was for sale on Amazon. The book offers advice to pedophiles on how to make a sexual encounter with a child as safe as possible.

Amazon is no longer selling the book but it’s not clear whether the company or Greaves removed it. Amazon did not return messages from The Associated Press and the author declined to comment.

The Pueblo Chieftain reported today that police haven’t found anything to indicate that Greaves has committed a crime but will monitor him.

Police say threats have been made against Greaves and they are keeping an eye on him to protect him.
