Police issue notice of sex predator
The Grand Junction Police Department today said Christopher R. Stubblefield, a state-labeled sexually violent predator, is now living at Mesa County Community Corrections, 650 South Ave.
Stubblefield, 31, who is under the supervision of the Western Region Parole Office in Grand Junction, was recently transfered from a state prison facility in Pueblo to the local community corrections program. Stubblefield in June 2011 moved into the downtown Rescue Mission before he was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of violating parole.
Stubblefield’s status as a sexually violent predator stems from convictions in 2007 for attempted sexual assault on a child and unlawful sexual contact, both in Mesa County.
Colorado law mandates police agencies provide community notification when sexually violent predators change addresses.
