Police search for mentally disabled man

Grand Junction police are looking for a man who walked away from a local adult assisted-living home.

Jimmie Moore, 59, was last seen walking away from the Center for Independence, 740 Gunnison Ave., around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Moore was wearing a white sweat shirt with a picture of a brown dog, or a bear, with paw prints. He also had blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Moore was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, 180 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He has a gray mustache and goatee.

The release said Moore has a mental disability.

Anyone with information on Moore’s whereabouts is asked to call Grand Junction Regional Dispatch Center, 242-6707, or police detective Sheridan Olin, 244-3598.
