Stolen generator’s journey
The Grand Junction Police Department received a report Thursday about a power generator being stolen from the construction site of the new Hobby Lobby store, near the Rim Rock Wal-Mart Supercenter.
Police learned the item already had been recovered in a location south of Salt Lake City. No suspects were reported.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Matthew L. Peterson, 26, 586 Summer Glen Drive, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of menacing, harassment and possession of a controlled substance. He allegedly threatened a man and followed him in a car as the alleged victim was driving to the Police Department, according to an arrest affidavit.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested and released to his parents Wednesday after he allegedly damaged property in the 1100 block of Colorado Avenue.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
An estimated $3,000 worth of items were reported stolen Thursday from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of East Grove Drive.
A vehicle was vandalized Wednesday night with spray paint in the 400 block of Rambling Acres Road. Damage was estimated at $300.
Deputies took a report Thursday of an elderly Clifton couple receiving a phone call that attempted to defraud them out of an unreported amount of cash. The couple provided deputies a phone number, and the case is under investigation.
A woman in the 3200 block of White Avenue asked Thursdsay for increased patrols over her concerns for the safety of her animals when she’s not there.
The concerns relate to recent harassment incidents involving a known man.
