Roommate assault alleged
A Grand Junction man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly assaulted his roommate, who is in a wheelchair, following an argument, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Robert Wain Kristy, 45, 3190 1/2 Kennedy Ave., was jailed on suspicion of assault on an at-risk adult, third-degree assault and criminal mischief.
The alleged victim told deputies he and Kristy got into an argument Wednesday night about Kristy’s military service, and Kristy punched a hole in the wall, then punched the roommate in the face.
A deputy reported the bottom of the roommate’s left eye was swollen and red, and he had dried blood on his forehead, according to an arrest affidavit.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Police received a report Thursday that a thief stole a credit card and used it to buy merchandise valued at less than $1,000 from a business in the 2800 block of North Avenue.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Monte Frederick Hansen, 42, 2879 1/2 Texas Ave., was arrested early Friday morning in the 500 block of Dawn Court on suspicion of robbery, auto theft, third-degree assault and driving without a valid license.
Clayton Don White, 26, 829 Logan, Palisade, was arrested Thursday on a warrant on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, no proof of insurance and failing to appear in court.
Lynsey Grace Stevenson, 28, of Norman, Okla., was arrested Thursday on a warrant on suspicion of theft of less than $500, first-degree forgery and failing to appear in court.
Deputies received two reports Thursday of a thief stealing items from three vehicles at two homes in the 600 block of Oxbow Road. Nearly $800 worth of property was stolen from the vehicles, and a welder valued at $300 was stolen from a yard at one of the addresses, as well.
A man reported Thursday that he had stored a boat at Boats USA, 2171 Interstate 70 Frontage Road, in De Beque, and the boat is now missing.
A woman living in the 100 block of William Drive reported Thursday that a vandal caused $300 damage to a window at her home.
