Fight leads to man’s arrest
A Grand Junction man was arrested early Sunday morning after deputies responded to a fight at a local nightclub, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department said.
Julius Xavier Wilson, 24, 2935 Bunting Ave., Apt. A, was jailed on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.
According to an arrest affidavit, deputies were called to Axis Nightclub, 2993 North Ave., around 1 a.m. and found Wilson arguing with two men who had kicked him out of the club.
As deputies were investigating, Wilson began to walk away and reached into his pants pocket. He refused to comply with orders to place his hands on his head and was taken to the ground and handcuffed.
Deputies found a bag of suspected cocaine in his pants pocket, the affidavit said.
Drugs suspected in arrest
A Hillsboro, Ore., man was arrested Saturday after a deputy stopped him for a traffic violation on Interstate 70,
Hans Josef Scholze, 30, was jailed on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and other counts.
According to an arrest affidavit, the deputy stopped Scholze’s vehicle on westbound I-70 at mile marker 18 after Scholze was driving in the passing lane even though he wasn’t passing a vehicle and changed lanes without signaling.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy smelled marijuana and later found about 3 ounces of the drug divided among eight small bags. The deputy also found several pills of morphine and Oxycontin, the affidavit said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Jeremy Walter Rowell, 18, 1200 North Ave., No. 325, was arrested Saturday in the 900 block of North Avenue on suspicion of robbery, second-degree burglary, third- degree assault and harassment.
David Silveria, 20, address unknown, was issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of stealing merchandise valued at less than $1,000 from a local store. A 17-year-old boy who was with him was arrested on suspicion of theft and for an outstanding warrant.
A 17-year-old girl was arrested Friday after on suspicion of threatening another person with a weapon, use of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A burglar broke into and stole items valued at less than $1,000 from a locked vehicle in the 2300 block of River Road on Friday.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Deputies received a report Saturday that a burglar removed a lock from a storage unit in the 3100 block of Hill Avenue and stole items from it.
A thief stole 40 gallons of gasoline from a tractor at Eagles’ Nest Family Dining, 1040 Interstate 70.
According to the Colorado State Patrol:
Jacob Scott Baker, 23, of Glenwood Springs was arrested Saturday at mile marker 47 on Interstate 70 on suspicion of speeding, reckless driving and driving under restraint.
