Reward for tool burglar

Crime Stoppers of Mesa County is asking the public to help find the people involved in the burglary of construction tools Nov. 14 from the Mesa County Services building, 105 W. Colorado Ave.

A DeWalt wet tile saw with a 10-inch diamond tile saw blade was among those stolen from the site.

The tools are valued at $1,200. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 241-7867. Information leading to an arrest can earn a reward of up to $1,000.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

Someone stole property valued at less than $500 and caused more than $1,000 of damage to a home in the 100 block of Orchard Avenue on Jan. 17.

Evert Lee Sweatfield, 57, 421 Rosevale Road, was arrested Friday on suspicion of third-degree assault.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

Deputies stopped a vehicle on J Road on Jan. 10 that was traveling 83 mph in a 45 mph zone. The juvenile driver was released to his parents after receiving a summons on suspicion of speeding and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies contacted a person in the 1100 block of East Paradise Way on Jan. 12 on a report of harassment through Facebook. The person said two other juveniles created a false Facebook page and sent mean messages to others attributing the statements to the subject. The investigation is ongoing.

Carl Lee Reynolds Jr., 33, 24 Marny Road, Apt. C, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of misdemeanor child abuse, two counts of third-degree assault, domestic violence, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer, harassment, criminal mischief and first-degree trespass of a dwelling.
