Gun summons issued

Thomas James Monette, 21, address unavailable, was issued a summons in the predawn hours Saturday on suspicion of prohibited use of a weapon.

He allegedly pointed a handgun out the window of his vehicle at Whiskey River, 490 28 1/4 Road.

Alarm ends in arrest

Shane Barnett, 1309 N. Third St., was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of second-degree burglary and misdemeanor criminal mischief, according to the Grand Junction Police Department. Police allege Barnett was found hiding in a men’s locker room at Rite Aid, 400 N. First St. Police, accompanied by a store employee, found Barnett after an alarm was set off about 3:14 a.m., the Police Department said.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

An unknown suspect was reported Tuesday to have tried to an induce a child to expose his intimate parts. Police on Saturday declined to release further details.

Simcha Sparks, 18, address unavailable, was issued a summons July 16 on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $100 from Wal-Mart, 2881 North Ave.

Jasmine Shine, 19, address unavailable, was issued a summons July 17 on suspicion of assault in the 700 block of 23 1/2 Road.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

The Sheriff’s Department did not provide its daily activity report Saturday.
