Two boxer dogs stolen
On Jan. 20, a thief stole two female, black-and-white boxer dogs valued at more than $1,000 from a home at 774 25 3/4 Road, according to Crime Stoppers of Mesa County.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Crime Stoppers at 241-7867. Anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest can earn up to $1,000. Reports can remain anonymous.

Home damaged in fire
A space heater left running in a bathroom was to blame for a fire that caused extensive damage to a home Friday morning near D and 28 roads, Grand Junction Fire Department spokesman Mike Page said.
The fire was reported just before 8 a.m. by a passer-by who reported smoke billowing from the roof at 2803 Perry Road. Page said it started in a crawl space in the middle of the home.
No injuries were reported. The owner told investigators nobody was living there, but he had been remodeling the home, Page said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
A vehicle valued at more than $1,000 was stolen Wednesday from the 1100 block of Texas Avenue.
Items valued at more than $1,000 were stolen Wednesday from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of 25 Road.
An 11-year-old girl was issued a summons Tuesday for fighting in public at 540 29 1/4 Road.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Jewelry and electronics valued at $2,000 were stolen Thursday from the bedroom of a home in the 600 block of Clearview Court.
A laptop computer valued at $700 was stolen Thursday from the 900 block of 25 Road.
A window was damaged when it was hit by pellets from a BB gun Thursday in the 3100 block of Perkins Drive, causing about $300 in damage.
A vehicle parked in the 500 block of 32 Road on Thursday was keyed, causing about $500 in damages.
According to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Department:
A thief stole two calves in the 14100 block of Marine Road.
A pilot reported that a bright light was pointed into the cockpit of his airplane.
