Man reports assault

Grand Junction police are investigating a report that a man was forced into a vehicle on North Avenue and assaulted early Saturday morning.

The 21-year-old man told officers he was walking in the area of City Market, 2830 North Ave., around 5 a.m. Saturday when a vehicle pulled up and two men he didn’t know got out.

He said the men grabbed him, pulled him into the vehicle and struck him in the head several times before throwing him out of the vehicle, Sgt. Kevin Imbriaco said.

The man was treated at St. Mary’s Hospital for a broken nose, Imbriaco said.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

Andrew Daniel Ybarra, 40, address unavailable, was contacted in the 700 block of Main Street and issued a summons Saturday on suspicion of possession of an illegal weapon.

Rodney Davis, 19, address unavailable, was issued a summons Thursday on suspicion of theft after he allegedly stole less than $500 in merchandise from a business at Mesa Mall.

A thief entered two vehicles in the 2800 block of B 4/10 Road on Friday and stole gas and items valued at more than $1,000.

A thief entered a home in the 3100 block of Lakeside Drive on Saturday and stole more than $1,000 in property.
