Man’s two dogs taken

A man who lives in the 300 block of 29 5/8 Road found a note that said, “Your dogs are gone,” on his kitchen counter Thursday evening, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.

The man told deputies his two dogs were missing, and he did not know who left the note.

Woman reports burglarly

Mesa County deputies responded to a burglary call Thursday evening in the 400 block of 30 1/2 Road.

A thief entered a woman’s house as well as her vehicle and took several items valued at approximately $960. The home and the vehicle had been left unlocked.

There is no suspect information at this time.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

A thief stole items Thursday from the area of El Jardin Drive and Forelle Street in Clifton.

A woman told deputies Thursday she wanted an unknown person to stop sending harassing text messages to her 12-year-old daughter. Deputies contacted the sender, who turned out to be a 17-year-old girl with no prior relationship with the 12-year-old.

The Grand Junction Police Department did not submit a daily activity resume Friday.
