Cocaine suspect jailed
Anthony Ritz, 21, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of possession of cocaine and driving under the influence, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Officers stopped Ritz on Sunday night near Seventh Street and Pitkin Avenue for driving a suspected unsafe vehicle. An officer smelled alcohol and marijuana when he approached the car, according to an arrest affidavit.
An officer found less than 4 grams of suspected cocaine on Ritz during a search, and Ritz failed roadside sobriety tests, according to the affidavit.
Officers found marijuana on two of three passengers in the car, Andreas Rivera, 22, and Eric Corral, 22.
According to the affidavit, officers also found an open container of Tecate beer in the car.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
A sex assault that may have taken place as early as Saturday was investigated in the northwest part of the city.
John Hancock, 35, was arrested on suspicion of striking a person in the face Oct. 1 at 2860 1/2 Hall Ave.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Daniel Zierhart, 21, was arrested Monday on suspicion of growing more than six and less than 30 marijuana plants on personal property, unlawful possession of 4 grams or less of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Natasha Leeann Chatterton, 27, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of third-degree assault, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.
