Burglary suspects arrested
Delta police this week arrested two men who allegedly broke into a building.
Andrew James Valencia, 22, of Olathe, and Joseph Anthony Romero, 23, of Delta, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, third-degree criminal trespass, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
Police spokeswoman Jamie Head said officers were called to a burglary in progress in the 900 block of Dodge Street Tuesday evening.
A citizen reported two men running from the building and provided a police dispatcher with a description of the men.
Valencia, who also had four warrants out for his arrest, is being held on $38,500 bond. Romero was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Levi David Garrick, 18, 618 W. Indian Creek Drive, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant on suspicion of identify theft and theft of less than $500.
Roberto Rangel, 44, 641 Windes Road, was arrested Wednesday in the 500 block of 32 Road on suspicion of criminal impersonation, false reporting to authorities and failing to appear in court.
Deputies received a report Wednesday that someone threw rocks at the front door of Chatfield Elementary School, 3188 D 1/2 Road, breaking two doors and causing $2,500 in damage.
A woman living in the 800 block of Quail Run Drive reported Wednesday that someone broke two lights mounted on top of driveway entry posts at her home. Damage was estimated at $250.
A bicycle was reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of 32 Road on Wednesday.
A woman living in the 400 block of Mountain Drive reported Wednesday that sometime in the last year a small pouch containing several pieces of jewelry was stolen from one of her closets. The jewelry was valued at more than $1,000.
A man reported Wednesday that someone damaged the window of his truck while it was parked in the 3000 block of D 1/2 Road.
