Friends argue over booze
Deputies were called to the site of an argument Friday afternoon after two friends had been drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
A verbal fight erupted in the 700 block of Belden Lane when the friends fought over who should purchase more alcohol and cigarettes, deputies said. One person was left at the scene and the other person was taken to a detoxification facility, deputies said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
Two juveniles, ages 13 and 14, received summonses Oct. 25 on suspicion of stealing items valued at less than $500 from a business in the 2800 block of North Avenue.
Property valued at more than $1,000 was damaged Friday night at a business in the 2500 block of U.S. Highway 6&50.
Copper construction materials valued at less than $1,000 were stolen from a construction site in the 600 block of Market Street.
Mindie Lee Borges, 33, 135 South 10th St., No. 2, was arrested Friday on suspicion of felony menacing.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
A woman was found sleeping on the side of a road in Mack. Deputies determined the woman was having delusional thoughts and she was taken to Colorado West Mental Health for assistance.
A resident in the 2200 block of Shiprock Drive noticed smudges on a window pane on Friday and thought a burglar may have been attempting to break into the home. Deputies took latent fingerprints from the window.
A handgun was reported lost Friday in the 200 block of Arroyo Drive.
Deputies responded to a report Friday afternoon of a lost child in the 400 block of Maey Street. With the help of a neighbor, the child was located and returned to the child’s mother without incident.
A man in a silver-colored pickup with license plates from New Mexico was seen Friday dumping a couch on public lands at 16 Road and the desert. No record of the plate was found and the case was transferred to the Bureau of Land Management.
Deputies responded to a report of several men fighting with staff early Saturday morning at Cactus Canyon, 3210 Interstate 70 Business Loop, No. T.
Two men were cited for harassment and one man was taken to a detoxification facility.
Christopher Jacob Day, 557 29 1/4 Road, No. 1, was arrested Friday on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender.
