Junction man arrested
Grand Junction resident Michael Gregory Bennett, who is not related to U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., was arrested by the Grand Junction Police Department on Thursday on suspicion of multiple misdemeanor and traffic offenses.
The 48-year-old, who was arrested at the intersection of Seventh and Main streets, is suspected of driving under restraint from a previous DUI, driving without proof of insurance, being a habitual traffic offender, displaying fictitious license plates and failing to register his vehicle.
Punch prompts police
The Grand Junction Police Department arrived at the scene of a fight between two men in the 200 block of Allyce Avenue on Thursday.
A man there told officers he had been discussing some issues with his neighbor when the neighbor’s son, Thomas Stanley, 24, came outside and punched him.
Initially, the man did not want to file charges, but later changed his mind. Police cited Stanley on suspicion of third-degree assault.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
A 17-year-old male was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of theft in the 1400 block of North Avenue.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
Robert Ward Levering Sr., 42, of 2193 Avenal Lane in Grand Junction, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of third-degree assault.
Danah R. Driskell, 41, was arrested Friday on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, having an expired license plate, and having an outstanding $25,000 warrant on drug-related charges.
Her passenger, Amber Jones, 32, was arrested on suspicion of having an outstanding $1,500 bond.
Drugs were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Chesire Court on Thursday, but the person later admitted to false reporting of a crime. No charges were filed.
According to the Delta Police Department:
Daniel Gomez, 56, of Delta was arrested Monday on suspicion of third-degree assault.
A light-blue girl’s bicycle was found in the 600 block of W. 4th Street on Thursday. It will be held for 30 days for an owner to claim.
