Police look into report that Tipton signs stolen

Palisade police are investigating a report that several “Tipton for Congress” signs were stolen last week as Mesa County Republicans were gathering for the county assembly at Palisade High School.

“As it stands,” Palisade Police Chief Carroll Quarles said Wednesday, “we have not been able to corroborate that any signs were stolen yet.”

Investigators will be given access to tape from video cameras trained on the area where the theft was reported to have occurred, Quarles said.

If the investigation reveals a theft did occur and reveals who did it, “We will file charges,” Quarles said.
