Police looking for man who threatened woman with knife

Grand Junction Police Department officers are seeking a suspect who allegedly threatened to rob an employee of Burger King, 739 Horizon Drive.

A female employee was changing the menu sign at the restaurant at about 6:30 a.m. when a man jumped out from behind a Dumpster, pulled out a knife and threatened to rob her, Grand Junction Police Department spokeswoman Kate Porras said. The woman yelled for help to a person inside the restaurant, and the man fled.

The woman was not injured and nothing was stolen.

The man is described as white, between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 4 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a hat, a blue jacket and blue jeans. He was unshaven.

Officers used a police dog to track the suspect, but it was unsuccessful.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 241-7867.
