A suspect was on the loose after robbing an Orchard Mesa bank Wednesday evening.

The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 20 to 30.

He was last seen wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt after stealing an undetermined amount of money from First National Bank of the Rockies, 2775 Acrin Ave., according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

The robbery was reported via a panic alarm at the bank as well as by a bank employee around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The man displayed a handgun and demanded money from a bank teller, said Sgt. Jeff Davis.

No one was injured.

Davis said he did not know how many people were in the bank at the time of the robbery.
