Polis faces angry crowd at Boulder town hall

BOULDER — Congressman Jared Polis is facing fallout for his decision to drop two ballot measures seeking limits on oil and gas drilling.

Reports are that dozens of people angry about the deal Polis reached with Gov. John Hickenlooper this week protested outside his town hall meeting in Boulder Tuesday evening.

When Polis arrived, protesters were holding signs and chanted things like “shame on you” and “you sold us out.” One man told him he should be on “House of Cards”, the Netflix political drama about an ambitious congressman.

Polis addressed the crowd over the shouting, saying voters have shown the oil and gas industry that it needs to address their concerns or face the consequences.
