Primary set for GOP race for 3rd House district
LOVELAND — A delegate vote today at the 3rd Congressional District assembly ensures that there will be a primary contest for the Republicans in the race,
Front-runner Scott Tipton earned just more than 54 percent of the delegates’ vote, while challenger Bob McConnell received a little more than 45 percent. The vote totals means a primary will have to take place in order to select a candidate to challenge incumbent Dep. Rep. John Salazar.
