Public meeting is today on Mesa Mall bus stop

Mesa County wants to know what you think of a proposed change to the bus stop at Mesa Mall.

A meeting today will show residents exactly what is planned.

“This is just a great opportunity for the citizens to understand the process we are going through and why we selected this site as a potential site,” said Todd Hollenbeck, director of the Regional Transportation Authority.

“This isn’t set in stone by any means. We are still taking public input.”

The bus stop is on the mall’s south side, with passengers dropped off in front of JC Penney. The proposed site is off the mall property, a two-minute walk from stores.

One off-ramp and one on-ramp connecting westbound U.S. Highway 6&50/Interstate 70 Business Loop and Redlands Parkway would have to be shut down permanently, he said.
