The opening sentence in your story lead the reader to believe that the office has been controversial since its beginning, yet the remainder of the story failed to deliver any controversey.
One sentence seemed particularly odd: “The idea, Bishop said Friday, was to put someone in the Mesa County Treasurer’s Office as trustee, but Gov. Roy Romer, a Democrat, had a different idea and he appointed Candace DeRose, a former chairwoman of the Mesa County Democratic Party and an employee of the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder’s Office.” What does that sentence mean? Candace DeRose was not “someone”? Instead of putting “someone” into the office,Romer put a Democrat into the office? Or maybe DeRose is a donkey?
It was interesting to read that the bill that established these offices independent of county treasurers was carried by Tillie Bishop, and that is the only value I found in this story. Or is Tillie Bishop controversial now?
CK considering your constant reprimands to the DS for their faults and failures to report news as you think it should be reported, why don’t you start your own newspaper?
Hey Joyce, you are quite amusing.
You comment on many of the same stories that I do, but you want to silence me in this venue? What is it with the GOP that you want to have the only voice on everything? Your understanding of the Bill of Rights doesn’t include free speech?
Have you ever noticed that you limit your comments to the things I say? I’m beginning to think that you are obsessed with me. FYI, I do have a blog where I write about things happening in the Grand Valley: http://www.konola4colorado.com. You are welcome to visit and leave comments there. I believe in free speech—I don’t edit anything posted there.
That certainly speaks about your ego, ck, to think anyone could be obsessed with you. Now that’s amusing.
