Publisher of Sentinel to take Fla. position

Alex Taylor, the Daily Sentinel’s current publisher has been named as the new publisher of the Palm Beach Pos

Daily Sentinel publisher Alex Taylor will become publisher of Florida’s Palm Beach Post in January.

Taylor is taking the position currently held by Doug Franklin, who is becoming executive vice president of Cox Newspapers.

The moves are part of the formation of Cox Media Group, in which Cox Enterprises, parent company of both newspapers, is bringing together Cox Newspapers, Cox Radio and Cox Television under one umbrella organization. Cox Enterprises is based in Atlanta.

Plans to sell The Daily Sentinel and other newspapers in Texas and North Carolina are unchanged.

Taylor has been publisher of The Daily Sentinel since the beginning of the year. He is the seventh publisher in the Sentinel’s 116-year history.
