QUICK PICKS, March 2-8
Friday, March 2
All for laughs
You must be 50 or older to participate but not necessarily to watch.
That’s the idea of the Grand Junction Senior Theater, which opens “Phantom of the Op’ry” at 7:30 p.m. at Grand Junction High School, 1400 N. Fifth St.
The play is a spoof on “Phantom of the Opera,” so it should be a night of laughs. Tickets cost $12 and are available in advance at local City Market and Albertsons stores and Roper Music. Tickets also are available at the door.
Saturday, March 3
Music with roots
Support Sustainable Roots, a nonprofit teaching Ecuador residents English and assisting residents as they grow and harvest produce, by enjoying some local music.
Lowlands, Jack + Jill and Bad Karma Kings will play at this benefit at Tenacious Brothers Pub, 118 S. Seventh St.
A $5 donation will be taken at the door.

Thursday, March 8

Tickets are available at sandstoneconcerts.com, City Market stores and Back Porch Music.
