Chalk it up

Each artist will get 12 pastel chalk sticks and a chance to draw for judges and cash. And you can watch the art go down ... on the sidewalk, actually.

This sidewalk chalk art contest at Snowmass Village is from 9 a.m. to noon. The artists in the open and high school categories will draw in the mall area. The youth category artists (12 and younger) will be in the Base Village area, where a bouncy house also will be set up because, you know, sometimes artists want to jump up and down.

Red carpet rolls out

Who is funnier: Steve Carell on “The Office,” Larry David on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” or Alec Baldwin on “30 Rock”?

Or perhaps the other three nominees for the Emmy Award’s Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series are more suited to your funny bone.

If reality shows are your thing, then here are the nominations for Outstanding Reality — Competition Program: “American Idol,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Amazing Race,” “Project Runway” and “Top Chef.”

Jimmy Fallon is the host for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards, which honor excellence in primetime (not daytime) television programming.

NBC will broadcast the evening event. Check local listings or your on-screen TV guide for times.

Stop my rocking heart

Fresh from their Friday night stop at Rock Jam in Mack, Ann and Nancy Wilson release the CD “Red Velvet Car” on the Sony Legacy label.

This is the Wilson sisters’ first album in six years and it contains 10 tracks written “from their own personal experiences and some universal themes,” according to product information. “The result on ‘Red Velvet Car’ is an album of breathtaking intimacy and honesty.”

Well, you decide. If you like “What About Love,” “These Dreams” and “Kick It Out,” then this may be the music ride for you.
