REI hosts free snowshoeing clinic

The oldest advice about on-snow travel is this: If you can walk, you can snowshoe. Honest, it’s that easy.

If you’d like to learn more, however, the good folks at the Grand Junction REI store are hosting a free clinic, Snowshoeing 101, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

“It’s kind of a warm-up day for our snowshoe demo day at Powderhorn on Jan. 30,” said REI spokesperson Marea Goodman. “If you like what you hear, you can come out and try the gear for free.”

Free is always good.

WHAT: Snowshoeing 101, a free clinic with information on gear, clothes and where to go.

WHERE: REI, 644 North Ave.

WHEN: 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

WHY: Learn an inexpensive, enjoyable way to get outside in the winter.

HOW: Call 245-8970 for more information.
