First Baptist Church sets day for seniors

First Baptist Church will host Senior Adult Day 2010 beginning at 8:30 a.m. April 26 at the church, 720 Grand Ave.

The event is for all “Senior Saints” and persons interested in the aging adventure, and includes fellowship, fun, food, enlightenment and encouragement to age gracefully and peacefully.

A meet, greet, eat and devotion time will be followed by session one, “Living an Outrageous Life — It’s Simply a Choice,” by Bette James Laughrun. Session two is “End of Life Checklist” presentation by Clara Brown Shaffer, of Brown and Brown, Elder Law.

The event concludes with lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Free piano concert to be Thursday

Bill Miller will present a free piano concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Northeast Christian Church, 2001 Patterson Road.

Outreach taking donations for yard sale

FuzeBox 95 Music Center is accepting yard sale type donations for its first attendance at the World’s Greatest Yard Sale scheduled May 8 at Mesa County Fairgrounds.

Household and yard items, toys and more are needed. Donations will help FuzeBox 95 with the purchase of musical equipment and provide free music lessons to children in Mesa County.

FuzeBox 95 is a nonprofit music outreach of City Church Ministries. Drop off items at 1650 U.S. Highway 50 from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays or call 433-7446 to schedule a pickup.
