Denver police are offering up to $2,000 for information in the case of a suspected murder victim whose body may be in the Colorado River near Glenwood Springs.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has charged Joong Rhee, 66, with first-degree murder following the disappearance of his business partner, Hae C. Park. Park’s family last saw him March 27; he was 64 at the time.
Police are following several leads as to the possible whereabouts of Park’s body, including the Colorado River. On April 15, Denver police, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and local volunteers searched the river for several miles from Grizzly Creek downstream to Glenwood Springs but didn’t find the body or any additional evidence, according to a news release at the time from the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
Morrissey proceeded to charge Rhee the next day. Denver police say an investigation of Rhee’s office turned up evidence that supports their belief that Park died there. Park was supposed to have met Rhee at the office before his disappearance, the DA’s office said.
