Ridgway hydropower proposal to be discussed April 26

A public meeting to discuss a proposed hydropower plant on Ridgway Dam will be held at 5:30 p.m. April 26 at the 4H Event Center in Ridgway.

The Tri-County Water Conservancy District has applied for a “Lease of Power Privilege” from the Bureau of Reclamation as part of the process to build and operate a hydropower project at Ridgway Dam.

The Bureau is preparing an Environmental Assessment on the proposal.

The meeting will describe the EA process and discuss any questions and concerns about the project.
