Rim Rock Drive closed on Colorado National Monument

Continued snowfall has closed the top section of Rim Rock Drive on Colorado National Monument, between DS Road and Independence Monument parking lot, according to Monument officials.

“Plows are concentrating on plowing and sanding the east hill of Rim Rock Drive between the east gate and the DS Road to Glade Park and the west hill between the west gate and the visitor center parking lot,” Monument Superintendent Joan Anzelmo wrote in an email this morning.

Anzelmo said crews will start working on the top portion of Rim Rock Drive later today, and the road is expected to open after that.
