Rock group Primus to perform June 20 in Grand Junction

American rock group Primus has scheduled a stop in Grand Junction this summer.

“An Evening with Primus” is coming to Grand Junction courtesy of Sandstone Concerts and Wigout Productions, according to Wigout promoter and Mesa Theater & Lounge owner David Prather.

Primus will play at 7 p.m. June 20 at Avalon Theatre.

Tickets are $40 and go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday at Ticketswest.com, local City Market locations, Back Porch Music and the Mesa Theater box office.

Primus originally formed in 1984. The group has released multiple albums and recorded the original theme song for the popular TV show, “South Park.”

The quirky rock group released its newest album, “Green Naugahyde,” last fall.
