School board coffee this Saturday

District 51 School Board members will host their third “Coffee with the Board” event at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Room 221 at the University Center at Colorado Mesa University, 1455 N. 12th St.

The board began hosting the sessions in January in hopes of connecting with district staff and community members. The meetings are open to the public and allow people a chance to ask the board questions or offer comments on the district and education.

Anyone is invited to attend the events but each session so far has focused mainly on one audience. The January “Coffee with the Board” was geared toward teachers, while the February meeting focused on principals and assistant principals. This Saturday’s meeting will center on classified staff, including district grounds and maintenance workers, secretaries, custodians and paraprofessionals.

Breakfast and coffee will not be provided at the meeting but attendees can purchase drinks and food on the first floor of the University Center.
