Sentinel worker critically injured by hit-and-run driver

A Grand Junction woman is in critical condition at a local hospital after she was the victim of a hit-and-run early Sunday morning.

The victim is Amber Davidovich Gomez, a mother of two small children and an employee of The Daily Sentinel for the past several years, said a friend and former co-worker.

The Grand Junction Police Department would only confirm it was an “adult female.”

According to a police news release, a woman was struck by a car about 2:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Main Street. The driver of the car fled the scene.

The injured woman was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and is listed in critical condition, the Police Department added.

No further information about the crash was released Sunday.
