Seven-day subscribers get lucky
You should, because you have already won.
Well, if you are a seven-day subscriber to The Daily Sentinel, you have.
Over the next four Mondays, starting tomorrow, you’ll find one golden envelope in your newspaper. Inside that envelope is a “check” for $120 you can make out to the nonprofit organization of your choice. We, in turn, will credit that nonprofit $120 in advertising.
For example, if 10 subscribers choose Hilltop as their charity of choice, Hilltop will receive a $1,200 advertising credit at the Sentinel. If 100 subscribers do so, we will credit Hilltop $12,000, and so on.
Alternatively, you can fill out the “check” to gift a 120-day subscription to The Daily Sentinel to a non-subscriber.
Again, every current seven-day subscriber — and anyone who signs up between now and Dec. 31 — will receive a golden envelope. They will be distributed over the course of four Mondays, through Dec. 9.
It feels good to give, especially with the holidays approaching and with the community needing a little shot in the arm.
To that end, we are also giving away $1,200 in cash to five lucky people who fill out and return a golden envelope “check.” Although encouraged, no nonprofit donation or subscription gift is required to participate in this drawing. We will draw the winners during the week of Dec. 16.
This is our way of giving back for 120 years of good fortune. This newspaper’s first edition came out on Nov. 20, 1893. Since that date, the Sentinel has weathered wars, depressions, recessions, fires, booms, busts and ownership changes.
But good fortune has always graced this tough little newspaper.
Now, it’s your turn to get lucky.
