Sidewalk work to begin this week in Montrose

MONTROSE — Montrose motorists are urged to use caution along South Fifth Street and Miami Avenue when sidewalk improvement work begins this week.

City staff and contractor Skip Huston Construction are putting in new curb, gutter and sidewalk along the north side of South Fifth Street between San Juan Avenue and Junction Avenue. Two raised concrete bulb-outs will be constructed on the east side of the intersection between South Fifth Street and Pythian Avenue. New curb, gutter and sidewalk will be built on the south side of Miami Avenue.

Construction is expected to end in the first week of September. Driving delays are to be expected, and lanes will be shifted around the construction area as two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project.
