Sigl top player, Wagner top coach in RMAC
Colorado Mesa senior forward Kelsey Sigl was selected the RMAC women’s basketball Player of the Year and Taylor Wagner the Coach of the Year today in voting by conference coaches.
The Mavericks, 26-1 and the regular-season RMAC champions, placed three players on the first team. Sigl and Katrina Selsor were unanimous selections, with Sharaya Selsor also making the first team. Bruna Deichmann made the third team.
Wagner is the first Mesa women’s coach to receive conference Coach of the Year honors after leading the Mavericks to the No. 4 ranking in the nation and their first regular-season title since 2002.
Sigl, who was the conference preseason Player of the Year, leads the RMAC in scoring at 18.5points per game and is second in the conference in field goal percentage (57.2).
